The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will replace its Pak-ID website with an advanced mobile app from January 17, announced Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, adding that the government was committed to bettering services and eradicating fraud.

This is due to complaints raised by people, mainly Pakistanis living abroad, regarding uploading their fingerprints and documents to the Pak-ID website and other fraudster activities utilizing fake websites.

The enhanced mobile application, said Minister Naqvi, will be more secure to facilitate the masses for the access services sitting in their homes while applying for an ID card, NICOP, POC, B-Forms, and FRCs.

In addition, NADRA will open three new regional offices in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan by March 31. These offices will help to improve service delivery in remote areas and better communication between citizens and NADRA officials.

NADRA is also working on increasing its presence across the country. There are still 19 tehsils without offices. The minister assured that these offices would be operational by the March deadline.

NTL has collaborated with PPRA in terms of offering biometric verification services for increasing transparency in public procurement. It will bring forth streamlining processes to suppliers and bidders, all while keeping the integrity of the e-PAK Acquisition and Disposal System intact.
