In a Wednesday interview with Fox News‘ Sean Hannity, President Donald Trump revisited a series of disproven assertions concerning elections, immigration, and the January 6 Capitol riot. The interview, conducted in the Oval Office, was Trump’s first since resuming his presidency.

About the January 6 Capitol attack, Trump said that the House select committee investigating the riot had “destroyed all the information” it collected. This is not true. The committee published an 800-page final report, transcripts from more than 140 witnesses, and archived over a million records.

He also alleged that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi confessed to having refused his offer of 10,000 troops before the riot. This claim is based on a snippet of footage and is unverified. Pelosi has consistently denied such a refusal and, as Speaker, lacked the authority to deploy the National Guard.

Trump lied about election matters: He asserted that he had led by 36 points in the 2024 election among young voters. In contrast, CNN and the Associated Press exit polls and data reveal that Kamala Harris led the vice presidency. He repeated the false assertions of voter fraud across the nation in the 2020 elections that had been proved to be unfounded by various investigations.

The false claim by Trump that 21 million migrants crossed the U.S. border under the administration of President Joe Biden can be found. Official data records fewer than 11 million such encounters, and many of these ended in expulsions.

Another part of the interview included more familiar falsehoods from Trump. These include false claims about tax cuts, world prison populations, and his notorious call with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Such claims have always been debunked by independent fact-checkers.

While Trump’s comments echo his earlier rhetoric, experts emphasize the importance of verifying such claims to ensure informed public discourse.
