Titan submersible Crew Message

Investigators have released the final message from the Titan submersible Crew before it collapsed and burst during the June 2023 dive into the Titanic wreck. The message, “All Good here,” was one of the last communications between the five crew members aboard the Titan-5 and its mother ship, the Polar Prince. After that, all contact was lost, and the submersible had no further communication.

The US Coast Guard’s probe into the disaster now enters its public phase. This inquiry will take two weeks to provide the facts behind the tragedy and recommend avoiding such tragic incidents in the future. During the hearings, what appeared to be the final journey of the submersible was recreated, discovering that communication became spotty just before Titan sent its last message at a depth of 3,346 meters. Just weeks later, it exploded killing all five crew members on board.

And at the hearing, more appalling facts surfaced. The hull of the submersible has never been tested third-party. The vessel had encountered 118 equipment problems in its 13 previous dives. Issues on the designs of the Titan and safety standards, as well as previous incidents, such as thruster failures and the front dome falling off, were also brought up.

OceanGate shut down completely. The hearing continues to hear expert testimony from marine safety and undersea exploration experts and former employees. This incident sparked debates that continue to this day on the issue of the safety and regulation of private ventures deep in the sea.
