Lionsgate Drops the Ballerina Official Trailer With Ana de Armas, This is a John Wick spin-off hitting theaters on June 6, 2025. The film casts itself with the role of former ballet dancer, Eve Macarro, and will ultimately prove to be an assassin out for revenge for killing her family. Ballerina is a key part of the John Wick story-unfolding a story that happens between the action of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4.
The recently released trailer gives a great glimpse of the mysterious past of Eve while showing the pursuit of revenge and the action that will basically define the movie. The choreography-that makes full use of ballet-inspired moves-gives a unique feel to the fight scenes. One great visually appealing scene shows Eve wielding her ice skate and slicing through someone’s neck, whereas another scene presents her battling an enemy with a flamethrower armed with a water hose.
Keanu Reeves stars as John Wick in Ballerina, and screenwriter Shay Hatten has confirmed that this will not be a cameo appearance for Reeves but a pretty large role in the movie. An effort to ensure that Ballerina feels closer to the rest of the John Wick universe, which sounds exciting to fans.
Ballerina is another significant step forward for the John Wick franchise. This is marked by its heart-pounding action and intricate world-building. The fans are quite eager to know how the story of Eve is going to interweave with the existing films. Ballérene is a directed Len Wiseman-written film based on characters by Derek Kolstad. It has executive producers Kaley Smalley Romo and Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski who directs all four in the John Wick franchise. With the unprecedented success of the franchise having earned over $440 million worldwide just with the fourth instalment, Ballerina will be yet another commercial success.
The franchise is expanding with new content. Peacock continues to run the prequel miniseries, The Continental, which stars Mel Gibson, which premiered in September 2023. Then there’s a series called John Wick: Under the High Table, set up at Lionsgate Television, which Reeves and Stahelski are now executive producers on. It’s got huge potential to further enrich the storylines and arcs of characters fans have grown so accustomed to seeing over the years.
