MQM-Pakistan member Shahzaib Naqvi, son of Rana Ansar, was killed in a car accident on Wednesday morning. In the mishap, his friend Ilyas was also injured. According to the police reports, the accident occurred near Clifton Underpass in Karachi.
The vehicle was said to be cruising at a very high speed when it lost control in making a turn, causing the car to flip over. Both Shahzaib, 35, and his friend Ilyas who are 30 years old were taken to Jinnah Hospital. Shahzaib was pronounced dead on arrival but Ilyas was treated and given some dose for his injuries.
Azam Rajper, SHO of the police station at Clifton, confirmed that Shahzaib lived on Rashid Minhas Road, and was the son of the late senior journalist Syed Ansar Ali Naqvi. Police handed over the body of Shahzaib after proper legal formalities were done.
The tragic news is drawing wide sympathy, the Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq issued his heartfelt condolence to Rana Ansar and her family over the passing away of Shahzaib. He expressed deep sorrow over his untimely death and prayed that strength and patience could be obtained by the grieved family at these poignant moments.
