In a major development, Punjab’s caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed the suspension of passports and identity cards of the protesters who chanted slogans against Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa in London. Naqvi asked NADRA to immediately take steps to identify them.
Mohsin Naqvi said that an incident of attack on the motorcade of the Pakistani High Commissioner is a serious incident, and the authorities should not keep mum over the issue. After this, the Pakistani officials have resolved to take strict action against those who are targeting Justice Qazi faez Isa.
The chief minister said that disrespecting the state’s top officials and institutions would not be tolerated. The government has directed NADRA to speed up identification processes for taking action against protesters.
This is another strong message Pakistan is sending across that such behaviors which violate respect for national officials and institutions are not acceptable.
