Former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram said the team has a tough series ahead. Even winning a single game out of the three would be a huge success in Australia. He was sure the team could give Australia good competition in the T20 series.

He claims that the PCB has tried to reach out to the Indian cricket board concerning the 2025 Champions Trophy and that India needs to make a trip to Pakistan as well. He points out that there is a huge fan following for cricketers like Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya in Pakistan, so exchanging people would eventually be fruitful for both these nations.

Wasim Akram also shared his sentiment on not having visited India in the last few years, expressing nostalgia for the food and people. He said Indian players would enjoy their time in Pakistan if they came.

Commenting on Fakhar Zaman, Wasim Akram said that Fakhar is an impactful cricketer. He is pretty sure that the recent controversy of the post on social media was not written by Fakhar himself. He termed the incident as a lesson learned. Akram agreed that the response of PCB has been apt and advised players to think twice before posting anything online.

Wasim Akram appreciated Mohsin Naqvi for his service to Pakistani cricket and defended the criticism against Pakistan for pitch preparation, saying it is a must for team development.
