Almost four months after Tishaa Kumar’s death, her mother revealed that Tishaa did not die from cancer; thus her family was misled about this. Tanya Singh narrated this in an emotional video she posted on her Instagram on November 28, 2024.
The video offered a glimpse into Tishaa’s life, sharing a caption with a great sense of love where Tanya Singh addresses the speculation about her daughter’s death. She described Tishaa as the “bravest version of brave” and as fearless, “completely devoted to making sure other children get to live life to its fullest.”.
Surprisingly, she further clarified that the reality of the situation is that “my daughter didn’t even have cancer initially”. She mentioned that after the girl took a vaccine when she was 15 years and a half, Tishaa contracted an autoimmune disorder which she said led to her case’s misdiagnosis which therefore prompted the wrong treatment given for her condition.
She calls on families to seek one to three opinions before undergoing sensitive tests like bone marrow. And in the medical trap it subjected them to, she found hope that such a harrowing experience could be one that other families might skip.
The Kumar family had earlier refused to divulge information about the Tishaa death, giving some unknown illness as the cause. Born on September 6, 2003, Tishaa was mainly kept away from the tinsel town and only attended some events occasionally.
Tanya’s story throws light on the greater issue of medical misdiagnosis, a problem that has been brewing globally for years. It is the family’s belief that sharing their story will eventually create an awareness that may prevent such tragedies in the future.
Tanya Singha ended up praying for other families and children who were suffering as she was, turning a personal loss into a call for caution and awareness.
