Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, has had his Hebrew-language account on social media platform X suspended after just two posts, reported Jerusalem Post. The account was launched shortly after escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, posting messages directed at Israeli policies and recent military actions.
On Sunday, Ayatollah Khamenei’s account posted a message that said, “The Zionist regime erred and miscalculated the Iranian nation. We shall make it realize what kind of power, capability, zeal, and initiative the Iranian nation has.” A post on Saturday before this started with the phrase saying, “In the name of Allah the merciful.” Both messages have been posted about recent Israeli airstrikes hitting Iranian military facilities, claiming two Iranian soldiers dead.
Ayatollah Khamenei’s most popular X account has lots of posts in Hebrew and is highly critical of Israeli policies and actions. As reported by his official website, Khamenei said regarding the recent Israel strikes on Iran, “Neither to exaggerate nor to underestimate the strikes. They’re making a miscalculation concerning Iran,” he said. “They still haven’t been able to correctly understand the power, capability, ingenuity, and determination of the Iranian people.”. We need to make them understand these things.
Iranian military sources reported that Israeli airstrikes hit missile manufacturing facilities, surface-to-air missile systems, and other military installations in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces. Iran’s response showed that the damage from those strikes was “limited,” although Tehran still considers Israel’s actions as a significant provocation.
Israel then declared that it had “completed” its retaliation for a missile attack on October 1. Israeli officials claimed that all mission objectives were accomplished and their planes returned undamaged.
