Babusar Top
First snow of the season has fallen in Babusar Top, Kaghan Valley. The entire valley wore a white blanket as at least one inch of fresh snow was covered all over the valley. The early snowfall caused a considerable decline in temperature and thus brought delights among visitors, which is basically the start of winter in that region.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfalls that caused flooding due to the overflow of Manor Nullah were recorded in other areas of Kaghan Valley and Balakot. Continuous rain disrupted traffic, especially beyond Mahandri, though access to Kaghan Valley was restored after waters receded to below-dangerous levels.
Rain, according to the Meteorological Department, is likely to persist for two days, and the authorities have appealed to travelers to exercise caution and avoid useless journeys.
Babusar Pass, also known as Babusar Top, is a mountain pass that lies at an altitude of 4,173 meters above sea level in the Kaghan Valley. It marks the highest point in the valley and leads from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Gilgit-Baltistan through an undulated route for tourists entering the north: Hunza and Skardu.
Renowned for its breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, lush green meadows, and alpine landscapes, Babusar Pass is a popular destination for tourists during the summer months. However, the pass becomes inaccessible during the harsh winter season due to heavy snowfall and treacherous road conditions.
The snowfall at Babusar Top has signaled the arrival of winter before time, and such beautiful sights attract a great number of tourists who want to visit the beauty of the Northern Areas of Pakistan before the pass is closed. This pass is also of historical importance because these were part of ancient trade routes, making it not just a natural wonder but also a region of cultural and historical interest.
