Former WWE Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and her husband, WWE superstar Seth Rollins, were spotted at Soldier Field this past Sunday as they watched the Chicago Bears take on the Detroit Lions. The couple was photographed interacting with former Bears star Julius Peppers before the game. A video posted on social media by a fan managed to capture the moment.
No surprise there that an ardent Bears fan and Rollins would be at this game. The couple even had been spotted at one of the Bears games, as it happens, way back in 2019; after they got engaged. And because Rollins was at the game, it did not take long for him to get the crowd rallying when he started chanting “Let’s go Bears!” before the kickoff.
Sadly, his optimism wasn’t reciprocated in the form of performance. The Lions 34-17 crushed the Bears, extending their losing streak to nine. After the arrival of Caleb Williams, the rookie quarterback who generated hope, things began to fall apart for the Bears. They have now registered a 4-11 season, which would make it their fourth straight losing season, a stretch of less-than-stellar performance for the team.
The game also falls in step with Lynch’s packed schedule as she has just been recently cast in the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, and in addition to her WWE wrestling commitments, she has also been featured at WWE/Netflix events.
Despite the Bears’ miserable time, Rollins and Lynch’s presence has given life and star power to Soldier Field, proving their allegiance to the franchise remains unbroken even in the dark days. Fans can only hope that brighter days come for the Bears—and maybe a visit by the WWE power couple will be much more joyful next time.
