After years of crisis, the car industry in Pakistan is finally rejuvenating. The local manufacturing of HEVs and EVs was initiated, and a number of models reached the market. This includes some key players: the Haval HEVs ‘Jolion’ and ‘H6’, assembled locally, the ‘Corolla Cross’, and EVs like ‘Honri Ve’ and ‘Series 3’.

It is lately learnt that BYD, the leading NEV manufacturer of the world, has finally landed in Pakistan. It has established a new alliance with a subsidiary of The Hub Power Company Limited, namely Hub Power Holdings Limited. It will be executed at Mega Motor Company Private Ltd, a subsidiary of BYD.

The completion of this partnership will be subject to finalizing the agreements and obtaining the necessary corporate and regulatory approvals. Last February, BYD announced its entrance into the South Asian market, revealing the plan for its global expansion strategy: to provide unique, innovative, and environment-friendly vehicles.

The partnership was sealed in Xi’an, China, at the BYD Asia Pacific Dealer Conference, with the top executives of BYD and Mega present. Mr. Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division, is quite excited about this partnership, showcasing the recent successes that have come the way of BYD: “In 2023, BYD successfully sold more than 3 million New Energy Vehicles and became the world leader.”
