Guy Beahm, a celebrated streamer and gamer known widely by the pseudonym Dr Disrespect, will operate Rumble with a mix of fame and conservative sensibilities in mind. According to reports, he will play two roles: a content creator and head of Rumble Gaming.
Rumble announced that Beahm’s deal also includes performance-based equity-based compensation. Dr Disrespect will provide Rumble Premium with exclusive content for his fanbase, often known as the “Champions Club,” while continuing to stream free content on the platform. His role includes advising and building the Rumble Gaming community.
This is a step taken after Beahm had a hard time with YouTube, which demonetized his channel back in June after he confessed to previously having improper conversations with a minor. YouTube denied Beahm’s request to be monetized again in September. Ironically, this move to Rumble is just after Beahm dismissed rumors of joining the popular steaming Kick, labeling the platform as having of poor reputation.
Rumble has made no stranger to controversy with a high-profile roster, including the likes of Steven Crowder, Russell Brand, and Andrew Tate. The persona Beahm has taken on seems almost a natural fit for the platform, considering his already politically charged nature-drafting, for example, his “Make Gaming Great Again” merchandise line, which evoked comparison with Donald Trump’s merchandise line and sold out fast.
In a recent statement, Beahm criticized his detractors and accused them of spreading false narratives impacting his family and career. Speaking about his move to Rumble, he expressed his thanks for joining a platform he believes aligns with his values. “No more cancel culture, no more suppression,” Beahm declared on social media.
This sends ripples through the gaming and streaming landscape; with Dr Disrespect ready to remake Rumble’s gaming ecosystem while deepening his brand in a politically charged space.
