The highly anticipated film “Mirzapur: The Film” from director Farhan Akhtar will bring along a high-intensity story driven by power, as loved by fans. It comes as a teaser announcement made on social media with much anticipation for a film in which all favorite characters that were loved and relished will return, like Kaleen Bhaiyya, Guddu Pandit, and Munna Bhaiyya, bringing a more immersive and theatrical show.
The teaser video consists of these iconic character teasers, suggesting a far darker and more intense drama than the previous seasons of the show. It also presented Munna Tripathi’s return, with Divyendu Sharma reprising his role from the original series. It was Akhtar’s posting that started to generate word of mouth, using the hashtag, “Ab bhaukaal bhi bada hoga, aur parda bhi” translating to “The chaos will be greater, and so will the screen”, something that promises to elevate from the original series.
In contrast to its OTT premiere, “Mirzapur: The Film” will be a theatrical exclusive release before hitting the streaming site Amazon Prime Video after playing out for eight weeks. According to Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment, this is a step that will bring the unbridled energy of Mirzapur’s world into the lives of more viewers, and for this Puneet Krishna is coming back on board as creator and writer.
Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, Divyendu Sharma as Munna Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee are believed to take the audience more into the crime, politics, and power of Mirzapur. “Mirzapur: The Film” will be released in theatres in 2026 and will keep an interesting tale of characters and story for the viewers of the series.
