GCU Lahore Bans Jeans

The administration of the Government College University (GCU) Lahore has prohibited students from entering the varsity premises while wearing T-shirts and jeans.

This decision of GCU Lahore has made not only the students but also the faculty members mix in feelings and was formally informed to them by the administration of this varsity. According to such policy, all the male and female students shall have to follow this new dress code for the student as part of the larger movement by this institution to maintain Discipline and decorum within the varsity.

The policy emphasizes modest dressing, reiterating that the dress code has been set in place to maintain the university’s values and maintain a respectful academic atmosphere. The management has maintained that it would not allow T-shirts and jeans on campus, which is not optional but an instituted rule. Consequently, the students should positively adhere to the new dress code whenever they are within the university campus premises.

It also warns that violations of the dress code attract strict disciplinary actions, although it has not stated the penalties for contraventions.
