The queen of Halloween, supermodel Heidi Klum, always celebrates the holiday in high style, and this year was no exception. For her 23rd annual Halloween Party, Klum rented out Hard Rock Hotel New York on October 31. Klum took everyone’s breath away as E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, paying homage to Steven Spielberg’s beloved 1982 movie character.
Complete with details like a glowing fingertip and a motorized headpiece that brought E.T.’s face to life with moving eyes and a realistic mouth, Klum’s costume was matched perfectly by her husband, Tom Kaulitz. For Klum, E.T. has always been such an important character. Klum says she has been in love with the charms of E.T. since her childhood. “I thought E.T. was so cute and loved how he wiggled around,” she said to People.
Klum’s costume preparations started at 11 a.m. She admitted that without practice, the process can get “anxious.” On Thursday morning, the model was ready. She took to Instagram to post a video saying, “One year in the making… I’m excited.”
Adding to the spectacular presentation, musical performer Janelle Monáe entered dramatically, like E.T. in his signature attire. She explained that this iteration she performed had been conceptualized long back for years: two years, she added. “It felt amazing,” Monáe said, “and wonderful finally putting it into practice.”.
She posted on her Instagram all day long, bursting with energy and exuberance, calling on fans to “Bring it!” in their costumes. Klum and Kaulitz played a photo shoot together with the feel of Halloween: it is an atmosphere that has marked what has become one of New York’s most celebrated Halloween events.
What makes Klum’s events consistently admired for their creative edge is that she pulls it off again with yet another Halloween icon: an E.T. theme, said the source.
