The iPhone 16 series will begin to arrive on September 9, and the buzz for its big guns mainly revolves around the new color options for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Among them, Desert Titanium has been among the most speculated. Many were assuming the model would come in a goldish tint; however, it seems different in a recent hands-on video. While that in the video might be a dummy unit, the color matches previous leaks.

Expect the Titanium treatment for the whole iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max lineup too, along with Titanium White, Black, Gray, and maybe Gold. The hero’s color name, it is still “Desert,” “Gold” or even “Rose” a pink tone. It will be full in any case announced on September 9.

Outside of new colors, the most, if not all, notable changes in the lineup are coming with the iPhone 16 series, starting with some much-needed size increases. The Pro phones will be growing in size for the first time in years to 6.3 inches on the iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9 inches on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Whereas the Pro models are getting smaller, the regular iPhone 16 models will have similar forms to the iPhone 15, but with some slight design changes, such as the addition of buttons. So in general, the standard and Pro models alike will look very close to their immediate predecessors.

Apple is also working on new A-series chips for the iPhone 16 series, using the latest N3E 3-nanometer process. While it is doubtless going to improve efficiency and performance, it is still anybody’s guess exactly how much. Chances are that the Pro variants will boast a far more powerful variant of the chip to set them apart from the normal ones.

The Action Button will make an appearance on all models in 2024, as it was exclusive to the Pro models of the iPhone 15. Another new feature will be the “Capture Button,” supposedly to offer users more camera controls, like a shutter, by sensing how much pressure is being used.

In terms of design, the camera will have the lens located along the vertical instead of the traditional diagonal setup on previous iPhone versions. This new orientation is said to allow for Spatial Video capture, making it more compatible with the Vision Pro headset. The 5x optical zoom lens, developed with Tetraprism functionality, was previously the premier feature only on the Pro Max but is reportedly coming to the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max this year. Keep up with the latest news from the Apple official website.
