IESCO
Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO)

The Punjab Government has ordered that domestic consumers of IESCO who used between 201 and 500 electricity units in August will get a relief of 14 rupees per unit. According to IESCO, consumers in domestic tariff groups 1 to 5 who have already paid their bills will see the excess amount adjusted in their September bills. The revised bills with relief would be dispatched to the homes of those who have not paid yet.

Similarly, the bills for the consumers of groups 6 to 15 were being printed with relief and would be delivered in due course. To facilitate the consumers, IESCO has extended the last date of payment. Updated bills will be available on their website at www.iesco.com.pk.

IESCO is the major electricity distribution company in Pakistan, having the onus of provision of power to the Islamabad Capital Territory and a part of Punjab. It serves millions of consumers across the regions like Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, and Chakwal. The IESCO works under the administrative control of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) in the maintenance and betterment of the distribution network, providing reliable supplies of electricity, and issuing bills at the doorsteps of domestic and commercial consumers.

IESCO has, in the last couple of years, upgraded its infrastructure with the latest metering and customer service technologies. Moreover, it works on power theft eradication, line loss reduction, and efficiency enhancement. The policies of consumer friendliness, like bill adjustments and extensions in deadlines of payment, hint at striving for increased customer satisfaction on account of the economic and energy crunch.
