Winner of Khatron Ke Khiladi season 14- Karan Veer Mehra The finale was brought by Gashmeer Mahajani and Krishna Shroff but Karan Veer Mehra stood aloft with the coveted trophy of Khatron Ke Khiladi in season 14 in addition to cash prize worth Rs 20 lakh and a car.
In an exclusive interview, Mehra narrated how the experience had transformed him personally and professionally. He gave much of the personal growth he gained from the challenge to host Rohit Shetty, but it also reveals his deep admiration for the filmmaker.
It was an intense ride for Karan Veer Mehra. “At the beginning, when I got selected, I felt very confident but soon, after reaching Romania for the shoot, it was one hell of a fight,” says the actor. “Every contestant was equally determined and that made me nervous. I was confident but soon understood I was up against some well-prepared individuals,” says Mehra.
One of Mehra’s most memorable days was when he conquered his fear of dogs. During one of the stunts, he confessed to being petrified but finally caught the nerve to face his fear head-on. “It was a big breakthrough for me. After communicating with the handlers and understanding the behavior of animals, I have no fear now. But my fear of electric current? That’s something I’m still fearful of,” he laughed.
Actor Karan Veer Mehra was pretty close with host Rohit Shetty throughout the show. “Rohit sir is the epitome of grace and patience. Everything that he said and did has stayed with me. I even developed a man crush on him. I hope to have the same attitude and composure that he has.
Karan Veer Mehra comments that reality shows have been metaphorical for life. “Each stunt was metaphorical; in life, you fight back to be successful,” he says. “Each time I was pulled down in a stunt, I fought back and eventually won. That’s how life is when you are low, not to give up,” he explained.
Mehra spoke of how the show was an opportunity for him to reboot himself after a trying time personally and receiving some tough criticism. He explained that earlier criticism had made him question himself, but the show allowed him to reflect and renew himself. “I realized I am not as bad a person as I thought. That’s a liberating feeling,” he confessed.
With Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 behind him, rumors have already begun doing the rounds about Mehra’s entry in the Bigg Boss 18 season soon. Mehra, on being asked, simply smiled and said, “Let the rumors be rumors. Why spill all the beans?
