Michael Rapaport has gone ahead to criticize California Governor Gavin Newsom and accuse him of politics over managing disastrous situations with raging wildfires through Southern California. The “Only Murders in the Building” thespian posted a video on his Instagram page to show his anger: “There are no more mistakes for you—you’re done!”

Rapaport condemned Newsom for focusing on “Trump-proofing” California instead of “fire-proofing” it, referencing Newsom’s political stance against former President Donald Trump. “He’s not even president, but all you talk about is Trump this, Trump that,” Rapaport said, adding that time was not in their favor for action on the wildfire crisis.

Criticism has swelled over the preparedness and response of the state for the flames that have leveled thousands of homes and taken more than two dozen lives. Rapaport mocked Newsom’s statements of learning from past mistakes, asserting, “You’re not running for sixth-grade class president. Those days are over.”

Others included Rhea Durham, Mark Wahlberg’s wife, who said she was frustrated. Durham had posted an image on Instagram since deleted. She posted this picture that showed Newsom looking nonchalant as he visited the wildfire base camp.

Newsom’s communications director, Izzy Gardon, fired back at the governor, saying, “The Governor is focused on protecting people, not playing politics, and ensuring firefighters have the resources they need.”

Despite public reassurances, officials of the state continue to talk against the leadership of the state at this time of the crisis. Rapaport, who never shies away from speaking his mind, branded Newsom a “small bulls— artist” and challenged him to step up.

With wildfires still raging, calls for tougher action from Newsom and California officials just keep increasing when it comes to protecting residents and preventing future disasters.
