Miles Teller, who acted in Top Gun: Maverick, has been all pumped up about the new biopic on Michael Jackson that is titled Michael. In this movie, 37-year-old Miles will portray John Branca, Michael Jackson’s lawyer, through which he will dig out the life of the famous King of Pop.
In an interview with Collider, Teller let loose that he has a lifelong fascination with the legendary artist, Jackson: “From the time I was a little kid, I’ve been fascinated with Michael Jackson. I learned how to moonwalk and imitate his moves. He’s the greatest performer of all time, in my opinion. He was such a complicated individual, and I think we’ll get to explore that.”
Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s nephew, will portray the iconic artist. Teller praised Jaafar’s performance, saying, “It’s uncanny. There’s a spiritual connection he has with his uncle. I’m excited.”
The biopic, under the direction of Antoine Fuqua, is set to hit the screens in October 2025. He has promised to give a wholesome view of Jackson’s life, covering his career highlights and personal struggles, controversies that have sparked debate over the years.
The movie will tell the story of a very complicated person,” said Colman Domingo, who plays Michael’s father, Joe Jackson. He assured fans that the film would explore the complexities of Jackson’s life.
Fuqua said the same in an interview earlier, saying, “We want to present the good, the bad, and the ugly—just the facts as we know them.” The director also appreciated Jaafar Jackson’s performance, calling it “uncanny” for its resemblance to Michael. He praised his singing and dancing as well as his presence in general.
Fans eagerly await Michael, promising to be a tribute as well as an honest portrayal of one of the most prolific artists of all time.
