Squid Game Season 2 Trailer
Netflix has finally made public the first teaser of the much-awaited second season of Squid Game during its annual Geeked Week fan event. The teaser continues from where Season 1 left off as Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-Jae, drops his idea to head to the U.S. He comes up with a new adventure; this time around, it is in pursuit of those who created these deadly games.
In the teaser, Gi-hun is seen back wearing his 456 uniform, but this time flanked by new contestants who also compete for another big prize. The show continues to weave a suspenseful narrative replete with human desperation as those who cannot make ends meet gamble with their lives for that all-important reward.
Some of the actors from the first season will reprise their roles for the second season of Squid Game. These include Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo, along with a few newcomers. Yim Si-wan and Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, and others will appear in it. The movie will be directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. Netflix will then drop Squid Game Season 2 on 26 December 2024.
The first season of the universally thriving franchise was the most streamed non-English language series on Netflix, with over 2 billion hours viewed and reaching 265 million total views. On Emmy nominations, it also entered history to have received 14, winning six awards, and spreading into a wider franchise by including a reality competition and an upcoming video game. The danger does not dissipate this season-it escalates its stakes to new heights of competition and deadly games.
