Pak vs Ind Hockey match in Asian Champion Trophy 2024
India continued their winning streak at the Men’s Asia Champions Trophy Hockey as they defeated arch-rivals Pakistan 2-1 in the Pak vs Ind hockey match, an intense thrilling encounter on Saturday. The much-promising game was staged in Moqi, China, amidst the picturesque venue in Hulunbuir City of Inner Mongolia.
Captain Harmanpreet Singh was the hero of the match, scoring two goals 13′, and 19′ that ensured India kept their unbeaten record intact in the tournament. Pakistan’s Ahmad Nadeem did give his team brief hope with an early goal in the 8′ 8-minute but wasn’t enough to hold India back.
The win sealed India’s place atop the points table, their fifth successive victory in the competition. India has been in scintillating form, crushing 19 goals and conceding a lowly three in their previous four matches. On Thursday, they defeated South Korea 3-1 to seal their semifinal spot.
Pakistan, led by Ammad Butt, had also entered the match in decent form that included a 5-1 victory over China. But India’s superior firepower and brilliance by Harmanpreet sealed their 17th win over Pakistan in the history of the competition.
Both the teams have made it to the semifinals which will be contested on Monday, with the final to be played on Tuesday.
