Paramount+ announced that the much-awaited second season of 1923, a prequel to the highly successful Yellowstone series, will be presented on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
Starring Hollywood legends Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton, 1923 is a series that brings out the struggles of the Dutton family in the early 20th century. The second season promises to reveal the struggles of the family with harsh winters, adversaries who threaten their legacy, and unfinished business.
According to Paramount+, the third season will follow Spencer Dutton, played by Brandon Sklenar, on his perilous journey to Montana to save his family; meanwhile, Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) will make her way across the Atlantic to finally reunite with Spencer. The network describes Season 2 as “the second half” of the story, following what they describe as an “intense and emotional” end to Season 1.
Locations include Austin, Texas, and Butte, Montana, across which filming for the series is being conducted. To further boost excitement among viewers, the production team has come out with teasers and first-look photos for the new season.
Season 1 of the series 1923 marked a record-breaking success; it was the most-watched premiere on Paramount+ in the U.S., and 7.4 million viewers watched it across platforms. The show continues to succeed as it deepens narrative threads connecting it to Yellowstone and the first prequel series, 1883.
Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, Timothy Dalton, and Aminah Nieves co-star in Season 2 of the series. As the riveting storyline has been so well performed with excellent performances, 1923 has carved out for itself as a must-watch for the fans of the Yellowstone universe.
