Besides the very limited Hollywood comeback through a brief cameo in 2014’s 22 Jump Street, Grieco pursued an additional career in fine arts that he described as “Abstract Emotionalism.” The new type is abstract, surrealist, and expressionist all mixed and combined into something absolutely unlike what he did for any on-screen character earlier in his career. His official website declares that his body of work is an intensely personal exercise in emotional alchemy, explored through a wide range of modernist and surrealist forms.
For fans, this transformation in Grieco’s look and occupation is unexpected and even intriguing. At the peak of his acting career, Grieco appeared in If Looks Could Kill and A Night at the Roxbury. He was also the cat’s pajamas of ’90s fashion: the brand face for Calvin Klein and Armani, among others.
