The Unpacked event held by Samsung in San Jose, California, threw the stage into quite an exciting mood with the teaser of Galaxy S25 Edge, a device that has been previously referred to as Galaxy S25 Slim in rumor mills. The event gave one a sneak peek into Samsung’s innovative design approach by featuring a device that might redefine thinness for future smartphones.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is distinguished mainly by its ultra-slim profile. Although Samsung did not announce official dimensions, it is evident that the phone is thin. The rear camera setup is minimal. It includes just two sensors inside an oval-shaped island that accompanies a circular LED flash. So, a minimalist approach to cameras is matched with an impressive goal of building slim.
Interestingly, the “Edge” moniker has sparked conversations among tech enthusiasts. Traditionally, Samsung used the term “Edge” for curved device screens. In the case of the Galaxy S25 Edge, however, it boasts a flat screen. This means that the company traded brand recall over traditional design features.
Visually, the Galaxy S25 Edge will look similar to the Galaxy S25+ on the front, so it is more about the sides and the back. Along with this teaser, Samsung also invited comparison to competitors such as Apple because the rumored iPhone 17 Air would have a single rear camera and emphasize thinness as a design priority.
Specs are still hidden, but what Samsung has so far unveiled is to the point; that the Galaxy S25 Edge would be a product like no other for the Galaxy. All the more interesting details are in store for later this year with its full-scale release from the tech giant.
Tune in for updates as we continue to bring Samsung’s exciting journey in the mobile innovation industry.
