Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi became a grandfather again on Tuesday as his eldest daughter Aqsa delivered her first child, a baby girl. Shahid Afridi announced his social media platforms by posting a sweet note and a poignant photo of the newborn’s feet in the hands of the couple, Aqsa and Naseer.
Expressing gratitude, Afridi wrote, “Alhamdulillah, Allah has blessed Aqsa and Naseer with a beautiful blessing. Daughters are the purest reflection of His mercy and the most precious blessing.” The family has named the baby girl Ayra.
The announcement gathered widespread love and congratulations from the followers and fans of Afridi and his family in the air of happiness as the star cricket celebrated his family.
Recently in December 2022, Aqsa Afridi tied the knots of the nikkah ceremony, and then rukhsati were held. Ayra arrived early this year much of a milestone in these two newlyweds’ history.
Shahid Afridi’s message echoed his deep love for his daughter, recalling a heartfelt note he shared during her wedding. “Although you’re beginning a new chapter in life, you’ll always have my heart,” he had written for Aqsa.
This is not the first time Afridi has accepted the status of grandparenthood. This year, his second daughter, Ansha, and her husband, Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Ali Yar.
As the Afridi family celebrates another blessing, cricket icon fans continue showering them with prayers and all good wishes. It is the second moment of joy celebrated by one of Pakistan’s most loved cricket families.
