Tesla finally launched the updated 2025 Model Y Juniper on its Chinese consumer website. The refresh consists of exterior styling, modernized interior features, and improved range to keep pace with the competitive electric vehicle market.
The new Model Y features a more aggressive front bumper with headlamps squinting across a light bar. A full-width red taillight further enhances the rear of the modern SUV. While these changes align the Model Y with the refresh given to the Model 3 sedan, the new model’s proportions remain distinctly those of the Model Y.
Interior upgrades focus on passenger comfort and technology. Perks include ventilated front seats, a new steering wheel with push-button controls, and a rear-seat screen for entertainment and climate control. Tesla has probably added more sound dampening and interior trim to the cabin to be on par with the Model 3’s refresh.
Its range has been significantly increased to a whopping 719 kilometers per charge, from an earlier 688 km. Information for the U.S. model isn’t available and may vary concerning powertrain configuration.
The updated Model Y, with a starting price of 263,500 yuan ($35,900), some 5.4% higher than the previous model, will roll off the production line in March, as soon as this country sanctions regulatory approval. Tesla will regain lost market share from local players like BYD and Xiaomi, which are now pushing novelty in features and price points.
Reports say that the 2025 Model Y will reach the United States early next year, and it is believed that its prices would range from close to that of the existing version which starts from $44,630. The Model Y is actually Tesla’s best-selling vehicle. Any upgrade done on this model is necessary to drive sales up in a growingly competitive EV landscape.
