Tamil cinema superstar of Kollywood, Thalapathy Vijay, has declared that he will be leaving the glamour world and joining politics soon. The actor, whose three decades of film career had left the audience swooning over him many times, finally ended his deafening silence on the speculations related to his decision in an event for the inaugural function of the TVK Vijay Maanadu.
The Tamil star who went down memory lane expressed that “I have lost the cream of my career, I have lost the remuneration. I’m here as your Vijay with a trust on you all,” he told media, showing his loyalty towards the fans and supporters. Recalling the early challenges faced by Aahim, he cited the criticism about his appearance, style, and even walking that motivated him to conquer all the critics.
Vijay will also be seen in what will turn out to be his last outing, Thalapathy 69, under KVN Productions, in tandem with this new career. Sources claim the pan-India project is scheduled for release in October 2025 and will be available in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. The last cinema film he was involved in, indeed reflects his signature legacy for Indian cinema. As is reported, he earned an enormous Rs 275 crore for this film, thereby emerging as the highest-paid actor from his country.
Thalapathy 69 will indeed be a fitting swan song to his cinematic career, capturing the essence of the journey and fan following Vijay has enjoyed. Fans would expect this one very much, wanting to see the transition of Vijay from a screen legend to a political figure.
