Impalement was famously applied by Vlad the Impaler as a method of execution whereby a stake was driven right through the body of the victim, and a person was left to die in an excruciatingly slow fashion.
Yet again, none of the above methods involved psychological torture to an equal degree as it is in Brazen Bull. Here, the victim’s cries are made into a show to be observed by others, adding that touch of dehumanization for which no other method uniquely qualifies
