There has emerged a lawsuit from a woman claiming she was abducted by extraterrestrial beings. This lady, Linda Napolitano, has presented a complaint at the New York Supreme Court and held Netflix liable for deceiving and misrepresenting her real life in its newly released television series called The Manhattan Alien Abduction.

She said, “I began the show based on an agreement on an understanding that the Netflix team would not air me and my abduction tale under bias.” However, Netflix reportedly went back on her understanding, which saw Linda take the company to court with a request for release date postponement since the shows were already aired on 30th October.  She is awaiting redress in court over false characterization and possibly being remunerated for what she said was “fraud”.

The Mirror reviewed documents that show the lawsuit was filed on behalf of both Linda and the estate of Budd Hopkins, the late author of Witnessed: The True Story of the Brooklyn Bridge Abduction. The complaint also stated that the series plagiarized elements of Hopkins’ book.

One of the notable things about Linda’s case is that Netflix has used skeptic Carol Rainey, whom Linda says played a greater role in the series than she was promised. In an interview, Linda revealed that Netflix assured her that her story would be dealt with fairly, with Rainey appearing only briefly as a counterpoint. But after previewing the series, Linda says Rainey was instead given extensive screen time, which Linda believes taints her story.

As far as she is concerned, it portrays her as a villain of sensationalism: she said her reputation suffers because of that. The public story began when it burst into public discourse in 1989. Some alleged that it is real. Others claim that it was just a fantasy. Not surprisingly, the series’ description on Netflix fuels fires with questions on whether this story is an “elaborate hoax” or rather “proof of alien life.”.
