Actor Jonathan Majors, in Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, had a big change of fortune in his legal skirmishes: He and his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, have agreed to drop her federal lawsuit against him alleging assault and defamation, court filings show. The voluntary dismissal filed jointly by both parties prevents the claims from being refiled, but Jabbari and Majors were not forthcoming about the settlement details. Jabbari sued Majors in March 2024 based on claims of physical and verbal abuse, as well as defamation related to Majors’s public denials of committing the acts. The lawsuit came after Majors’s guilty plea conviction in 2023 to misdemeanor reckless assault and harassment of Jabbari in an unrelated matter.
After his legal ups and downs, Majors, who lost his professional gigs, including Marvel Studios, has continually denied the charges. His lawyer mentioned potential counter-claims, stating that Majors is all set to clear his name.
Jabbari’s attorney, Brittany Henderson, acknowledged her client’s courage in a statement following the settlement. “Grace Jabbari has exhibited tremendous bravery throughout this difficult process. This settlement allows her to move forward with dignity.”
Majors’ career went through tough times after his scandal was brought to light. An actor who would have potentially headed the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kang the Conqueror, Majors was sidelined from that movie and other principal offers. Magazine Dreams is the next production he has after the scandal, and this is scheduled for release in 2025.
With the lawsuit over, Majors is seeking to rehabilitate his career and public image. He has a role in the revenge thriller Merciless, directed by Martin Villeneuve. Whether he can recapture his former standing remains to be seen, but this finally brings an end to that case, a key milestone in the recovery journey.
