Even more star power will fill the casting list of Christopher Nolan‘s next project. Insiders say Anne Hathaway and Zendaya are lined up to join Matt Damon and Tom Holland in the long-awaited new project from Nolan. The film is expected for release in IMAX theaters on July 17, 2026 filming begins early in 2025.
Though a movie plot is scarce in details, the movie will be shot at least outside of the contemporary period, far from the usual Nolan characteristic. The sheer success of Oppenheimer already creates a buzz, but now more so because it comes with big-name talent attached.
This is the first team-up for both Zendaya and Nolan, though Hathaway has been twice directed by the director as in The Dark Knight Rises in 2012 and Interstellar in 2014. Both the actors had a successful run as Hathaway was seen recently in Mother’s Instinct and Zendaya in Dune: Part Two which broke over $700 million worldwide.
To Holland, this film will be a new adventure after starring in the Spider-Man movie franchise, with Zendaya by his side. He said he is thrilled to join Nolan’s project and that he feels the same way as when he received the call that made him Spider-Man a decade ago.
It is no secret that Nolan draws the best talent around him to work for him, so great expectations will surround this film as Oppenheimer broke box office records and was critically acclaimed. The film will be released in 2026, but to date, it remains one of Hollywood’s best-kept secrets, however.
