Chad McQueen’s fan following and success was largely due to the role he played as Dutch in the 1984 classic The Karate Kid. He died on Thursday due to organ failure at the age of 63. Lawyer Arthur Barens confirmed the tragic news, saying that McQueen was fighting severe health problems that started with a racing accident years ago.

Chad was surrounded by his wife Jeanie Galbraith and his two children, Chase and Madison McQueen, at the time of his passing in Palm Springs. “His love and commitment to everyone in his life, especially to his wife and their two children, was truly unwavering. He is deep in our hearts.”. “His amazing journey as the loving father to us and to his dedication to our mother truly epitomized a life filled with love and devotion,” they shared.

A racing passion and enthusiast, just like his father, he was into great events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring. He was also the founder of McQueen Racing, a company specializing in high-performance vehicles. As if this were not enough to make his life memorable, he was involved in a near-fatal crash in 2006 but continued to influence the world of racing by passing it down to his children and creating a legacy for his family.

Chad McQueen’s career was never as superlative as his father’s, but as Dutch in The Karate Kid and the 1986 sequel into pop consciousness, he had some unforgettable moments. His character, being a Cobra Kai gangster, was emblematic of the merciless attitude that helped define the memorable moments of the movie. Instead, his contribution will be a memory for fans as he added something to the world of Cobra Kai, though he never reprised that role in the TV series due to some scheduling conflicts.

He left behind his wife Jeanie and children Chase, Madison, and Steven R. McQueen, who is best known for playing the role on The Vampire Diaries. The family asked for privacy as they go through the loss and pay their respects to Chad McQueen’s life and legacy.
