The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a major operation in which two top commanders of the Hezbollah were targeted and eliminated. They have been alleged to have launched over 400 projectiles on Israel over October. The airstrike was performed from the sky, aimed at the tyro in Lebanon near this city with key figures who work in artillery operations in the Hezbollah military.
Mousa Izz al-Din, Hezbollah’s forces commander in the coastal sector, and Hassan Majid Daib, Hezbollah’s artillery commander in the same area, were the two commanders killed. Daib reportedly controlled projectile fire toward Haifa Bay last Thursday which further escalated the recent tension.
The commanders proved to be effective in putting security across the northern parts of Israel to the test with the bombardment of attacks set by sources from the IDF. The operation has become a clear case of the determination of Israel to address specific threats such as the commanders leading attacks against civilian areas and vital installations.
In another development, Israeli naval commandos in a brazen invasion overran the town of Batroun in northern Lebanon, making Hezbollah official Imad Amhaz surrender. During the invasion, more than 25 Israeli soldiers landed with speedboats, rushed to a coastal chalet, and took Amhaz under arrest before leaving the spot in minutes. According to reports, the development was elaborately planned and carried out, mirroring Israel’s continued moves to disrupt Hezbollah’s operational web in Lebanon.
These steps are part of the overall campaign against the threats presented by security from Hezbollah. According to Israel, these threats are one of the greatest risks it faces on the border. The officials claim, given the ongoing escalation and tension in the region that these steps may recur later against those directly implicated in planning attacks on the land of Israel.
Such recent attacks and arrest operations present a very explicit message, as the Israeli troops can now effectively and visibly appropriately portray their presence and intention to overcome regional threats.
