According to a new leak, the next-generation Arc Battlemage from Intel may drop as early as December, which is going to give Intel a surprise lead in the fight against the opponent, AMD and Nvidia. The Weibo source goes by the name of Golden Pig Upgrade Pack and shared the information that Battlemage, which is the desktop version promises “wonderful performance.” According to the released early specs and performance promises, lots of controversy has been stirred in the tech world as Intel enthusiasts are eager to see how the Battlemage might stack up against current industry giant GPUs.
If it were to happen then the new GPU at Intel would outdo the expected RDNA 4 by AMD and RTX 50-series from Nvidia both of which are supposed to be unveiled at CES in January 2025. In this way, it may come a little early thereby helping Intel gain all the sales on holidays, thus giving the buyer a new Battlemage which was by no means an easy one as there were only two; AMD and Nvidia with their series on offer. It was there since in the Lunar Lake processors, but its desktop version details hadn’t seen much daylight till now.
The new leak brings two interesting points: the December release by Intel and substantial performance promises. Intel had a rather poor record with previous Arc GPUs because of criticism about mid-range performance as well as some optimization issues with software. However, Battlemage is claimed to target mainstream users and might therefore show better performance to help Intel take the desktop GPU market seriously.
Given that Intel will be launching its first early in the market, Battlemage GPU can easily grab a market share before the next-gen GPUs by AMD and Nvidia enter the fray. The details regarding Intel’s Arc Battlemage’s release date haven’t been confirmed, but everyone in the tech world is excitedly waiting to know if it will be released in December and what it will look like.
Until Intel confirms it, all this information will only be speculative.
