Pakistan vs South Africa: The Pakistan cricket team is ready to launch its all-format series against South Africa starting on Tuesday when the first T20I against South Africa kick starts at Durban’s Kingsmead Stadium. It is also going to be the two sides’ first bilateral engagement since 2019.

The Pakistan team, which landed in Durban on Friday, has been fine-tuning its skills through vigorous training sessions. Mohammad Rizwan is returning as captain, after being rested for the Zimbabwe series. They would look to capitalize on experience and carry the momentum they built by winning the previous two T20I series against South Africa in 2021.

South Africa, meanwhile will be headed by Heinrich Klaasen as the resting Aiden Markram, the test series. After a setback recently in T20Is, the Proteas have also brought some new faces into the rebuilding effort.

In terms of T20I history, Pakistan holds a slender advantage of 12 wins out of 22 games. Both are runners-up in the last few ICC Men’s T20 World Cups, so they badly need to recover from inconsistent series played in the recent past.

According to the captain of the team Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan has to adapt their play to the South African conditions since this team will favor a pacemaker: “The wickets here will challenge us, but our pacers can thrive.”

Tightly Packed Schedule

The second and third T20Is will then be hosted at Centurion and Johannesburg on December 13 and 14, respectively. Then will come the three ODIs, while the tour will draw to an end with the two Tests.
