In a recent episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, cast member Erin Lichy let slip a bombshell rumor involving fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff. Speaking with the other housewives, Jessel Taank and Brynn Whitfield, Erin revealed that Rebecca was reportedly possibly pregnant and her husband, Gavin, was not the father. “It’s not confirmed,” Erin explained, adding that she’d heard through a mutual friend that Rebecca’d had some kind of “wild night.”
When the news by Erin started to spread, people reacted in shock to skepticism. Jessel and Brynn appeared to be in complete shock and said Brynn, “I would not have expected this in my wildest dreams.” Yet skepticism developed when Brynn thought Rebecca’s picture of calmness and composure in public life could hide some wild fun-filled adventures in private life. Drama quickly took a turn as Brynn dished the rumors with other cast members and added that Rebecca’s alleged fling might have “consequences”.
Later that afternoon, at a game of dodgeball not exactly being taken seriously, Brynn passed the word to Racquel Chevremont and Sai De Silva. Jenna Lyons then walked over and warned Rebecca to be careful as it seemed, her reputation was being discussed. Rebecca asked what she was supposed to be careful about. Jenna raised her eyebrow, and that was enough. Rebecca spun around to Erin and asked her to explain.
Rebecca then pins Erin down by asking whether she had told the women that she had spread the rumor. Erin then let out that it was slightly out of innocuous nature, and by this time Rebecca already looked visibly hurt. The tension between the two women outside the venue happens before they both laugh about it: thereby giving off a vibe that might have been a serious matter or just housewives theatre.
As the episode finally ends, it leaves on a cliffhanger that seems as if one part could be a highly elaborate hoax, or maybe deeper truths will come out next week. Fans have been breathing for what is next to happen with this surprising twist that might just give RHONY some new life in this season’s storyline.
